The TTM Micro self-regulating heating cables are specifically designed for anti-icing and frost protection. These low-power cables are suitable for protecting pipes, gutters, wires, and other applications against snow and ice where low but positive temperatures are required.

Details

Detailed Description:

TTM Micro self-regulating heating cables can be used in the following areas:

Heating of tanks
Heating of pipes and wires
Frost protection for roofs, gutters, or garage door tracks
Heating of process pipelines

Features:

Self-regulating
Three output options
Cut-to-length capability

Technical Specifications:

Maximum operating temperature: 65°C
Outer sheath: Tinned copper shielding + PVC jacket (available with fluoropolymer jacket as an option)
Maximum ambient temperature: 85°C
Dimensions: 8.4 x 5.6 mm
Weight: 0.07 kg
Output power: 17 W/m
Bending radius: 30 mm
Minimum installation temperature: -45°C

Operation:

The self-regulating heating cables consist of two parallel conductors embedded in a semi-conductive self-regulating matrix. This design enables the cable to automatically respond to changes in external conditions.

When the temperature rises, the synthetic material expands due to molecular forces, reducing the connections between carbon molecules, which decreases the load.
When the temperature drops, the connections between carbon molecules increase, raising the load.

As a result, the heating output adjusts according to the surface temperature to which the cable is applied.

User guide

Introduction

This user guide is designed for self-regulating heating cables, suitable for a wide range of applications including frost protection, temperature control, and industrial heating solutions. These cables feature self-regulating technology, making them energy-efficient and suitable for use in both residential and industrial environments.

Key Features:

Self-regulating technology: The cables automatically adjust their heating output according to temperature changes, ensuring energy efficiency.
Temperature ratings: The cables are highly durable, withstanding extreme temperatures—typically operable up to 65°C when powered and up to 85°C when unpowered.
Durability: UV-resistant and available with various outer sheaths such as thermoplastic, fluoropolymer, and halogen-free materials, suitable for diverse environmental conditions.
Cut-to-length: The cable can be easily cut to the desired length on-site.

Installation Guide:

Preparation:

Ensure the installation area is clean, dry, and free from debris that could affect the cable's performance.
Verify the power supply specifications and ensure the cable’s voltage and wattage match the system requirements (typically 230V).

Cable Installation:

Placement:
- Lay the cable along the desired path, ensuring coverage of all required surfaces, such as pipes, tanks, or floors, depending on the application.
For pipes:
- Wrap the heating cables around the pipes in a spiral pattern or follow the specific layout requirements of the project.
For tanks:
- Wrap the cables around the tanks according to the desired layout, ensuring even coverage.
Secure the cable firmly to avoid movement during operation. Use aluminum tape to enhance heat distribution.

Connection:

Use appropriate connectors and junction boxes to connect the heating cable.
Always ensure proper grounding and compliance with local electrical safety standards.

Testing:

Before connecting to the power supply:

Check the system's continuity and insulation resistance.

Operation:

The self-regulating heating cable adjusts its heating output based on the ambient temperature. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a thermostat or temperature controller.

Maintenance:

Regularly inspect the cable to ensure it is securely fixed and free of damage.

Troubleshooting:

If the cable does not function correctly, check the power supply, cable connections, and temperature control system.
If physical damage is present, contact the manufacturer for replacement or repair.
